Before and after, case by case

Drag any divider to compare. Each case names the procedure and, where recorded, the surgeon, the facility and how long after surgery the second photograph was taken.

Individual outcomes vary and no case here is a prediction. Read the medical disclaimer.

How a case gets onto this site

Four gates. A record failing any one is not published.

These are not aspirations: a case that does not meet all four is not shown anywhere on this site.

  1. Gate 01

    Recorded consent

A case is shown only while the patient's consent is on file. If consent is withdrawn, the case is removed from every gallery at once.

  2. Gate 02

    A complete pair

Both a before and at least one after image must exist. A comparison missing one side is not shown, however good the remaining photograph is.

  3. Gate 03

    A stated interval

Every case carries how long after surgery the follow-up photograph was taken. Swelling settles for months, so an undated 'after' is not a result.

  4. Gate 04

    Disclosed editing

Each record states whether image editing was disclosed. Where nothing beyond cropping and colour balance is claimed, we print that claim rather than implying none was made.

What a before-and-after can and cannot tell you

A photograph shows one person's result at one interval under one set of lighting conditions. It says nothing about how likely that result is for you, and nothing about the cases that were never photographed. Ask any provider how many of their cases are published, not just how good the published ones look.
