Follow-up intervals
Each case appears on the pages of the procedure, surgeon and facility named here.
A dental implant is a post, usually titanium, placed in the jaw to hold a replacement tooth. A photograph shows the visible tooth, but the implant, the bone around it and how it was placed all lie beneath the gum and cannot be seen.
Ask which implant brand and which crown material were used, whether bone grafting was needed, and who placed the implant and who made the crown. Ask for a scan of your own jaw before you accept a plan.
Ask what the warranty covers, how often you will need check-ups and what happens if an implant fails. Ask for the plan, the price per tooth and the aftercare arrangement in writing.
Results vary between patients. Images should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a similar outcome.
