Follow-up intervals
Each case appears on the pages of the procedure, surgeon and facility named here.
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, removes loose skin and some fat from the upper arm and tightens the area. A photograph shows the new shape, but the scar, the amount of skin removed and the patient's weight history are harder to see.
Look at the line of the underside of the arm from the shoulder to the elbow: is the hanging skin gone and the contour smooth? Then check the scar, which usually runs along the inner arm and can be long. Compare how visible it is from the front and from the side.
Check that both arms were photographed in the same position, because lifting or lowering the arm changes how much loose skin shows. Compare the two sides, since slight differences are common.
Results vary between patients. Images should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a similar outcome.
