Follow-up intervals
Each case appears on the pages of the procedure, surgeon and facility named here.
Abdominal etching is a form of liposuction that removes fat selectively to bring out the lines of the abdominal muscles. A photograph shows the surface definition, but not the fat that was removed, the person's muscle, or the diet and training that keep the result.
Ask how much fat was removed and from where, which technique was used and who performed it. Ask whether the person was already lean, because the procedure suits people near a stable, healthy weight and does not replace exercise or weight management.
Ask what unevenness is possible, what happens if the contour is irregular and what follow-up is included. Ask for the plan, the price and the aftercare arrangement in writing.
Results vary between patients. Images should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a similar outcome.
