Plastic Surgery in Ankara

Ankara is Turkey's capital, with a large register of surgeons and many university hospitals. How to compare them, how to get there and where to stay near the hospital.

Ankara has 287 surgeons on our register that record it as their main city, and 92 facilities are listed there. It is Turkey's capital, and its list of facilities reads differently from the seaside cities: university hospitals sit alongside private hospitals and clinics, and the traditional hospital district of Sıhhiye is home to several large university hospitals.

For a patient that raises two practical questions. The first is how you will get there, because Ankara has fewer direct international flights than Istanbul and many people connect through it. The second is which kind of hospital suits the operation you want, since a university hospital and a private cosmetic practice are not the same experience.

01

Where Plastic Surgery Is Done in Ankara

Ankara's plastic surgery sits in three settings:

  • University hospitals, which train surgeons and handle reconstructive and complex cases; cosmetic operations for international patients are arranged there less often than in private hospitals.
  • Private hospitals and hospital groups, where most cosmetic surgery for visitors takes place.
  • Surgeons' own practices, for consultations and checks, with the operation done in a partner hospital.

Ask which setting your surgeon is proposing, and get the hospital's address as well as the surgeon's.

02

What Ankara Surgeons List Most

Rhinoplasty, liposuction, eyelid surgery, breast augmentation, breast reduction and tummy tuck are listed by more Ankara surgeons in our records than other operations. The links below go to the Ankara page for the procedure where one exists, and otherwise to the national guide.

This page deals with what is particular to Ankara; each operation's technique and risks are in its own guide.

03

Hospitals and Clinics in Ankara

Treat every Ankara facility by the same checks as elsewhere in Turkey: health tourism authorisation, a place on the HealthTürkiye list, a named anaesthesia team and overnight monitoring. If you are drawn to a university hospital, ask whether it accepts international cosmetic patients and how appointments, fees and aftercare work, as arrangements can differ from a private hospital's.

A long list is a reason to shortlist by facts, not photographs. UK and Turkish plastic surgery societies advise checking membership of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, Turkish board certification, at least five years in practice and an aftercare plan. See how to choose a surgeon for where each check is made.

05

Getting to Ankara

Ankara has fewer direct international flights than Istanbul, so many patients connect through Istanbul; check the whole itinerary, including the connection time, before you book, because a missed connection is harder to manage after surgery.

  • ESBEsenboğa Airport

Esenboğa Airport is about 28 km north of the centre. A taxi or prearranged transfer takes roughly 30–45 minutes, and airport shuttle buses also run to the centre. Within the city the metro and Ankaray lines connect the main districts.

06

Where to Stay in Ankara

The medical districts people mention most are Çankaya, Sıhhiye and Söğütözü. Many international patients book a hotel or aparthotel near the hospital for the first nights after surgery. Ask whether your package includes accommodation, which hotels the provider works with and how far the hotel is from the hospital, and choose by proximity to the place where your checks will take place.

07

Prices in Ankara

There is no separate Ankara price list here. Providers price within the national range for each operation; the cost pages show the dated advertised range we recorded and what packages include and leave out. These are advertised figures, not quotes.

What changes a quote within Ankara is mostly local logistics: the type of hospital, the nights included, the hotel's distance from the hospital, and the transfers from Esenboğa, plus the cost and timing of a connecting flight from Istanbul if you need one.

08

Before You Fly Home

Leave only after your surgeon or their team has reviewed you, and take your operation notes and discharge summary, the details of any implant or device, written instructions on dressings and medication, the date and method of your next review, and the name of a contact for problems at home. The NHS advises asking where follow-up will take place before you go, and what happens if complications arise. Turkey's emergency number is 112.

09

Ask Ankara Providers for Options

Tell us the procedure you are considering and when you can travel and we will come back with Ankara options to compare. A request is not a booking, and a plan is confirmed only after examination.

Why Türkiye

What Türkiye offers, and how to check it

A national authorisation scheme, specialist surgeons and prices set beside those of the countries patients travel from — each with a source you can check.

  • A national authorisation scheme

Hospitals and clinics treating international patients must hold a Ministry of Health health-tourism authorisation and, under the 2025 regulation, must also carry complication insurance for operating-room procedures.

    How providers are checked
  • 1,934 plastic surgery specialists

Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is its own specialty in Türkiye, and every profile states the surgeon's title, what we checked and, where we hold it, where they practise.

    Meet the surgeons
  • Prices you can compare in the open

Türkiye set against the NHS and American Society of Plastic Surgeons figures for the same operation — nothing converted between currencies, every figure dated.

    Compare the figures
  • 845 hospitals and clinics, 70 cities

1,948 surgeons and 40 procedures listed, from Istanbul and Ankara to İzmir and Antalya — and a patient team to help you shortlist.
