Follow-up intervals
Each case appears on the pages of the procedure, surgeon and facility named here.
Breast augmentation with implants changes the size and shape of the breasts. A pair of photographs shows the outer result only: the implant's size and type, its position relative to the muscle and the incision are not visible, and neither is the patient's own tissue.
Compare the front, side and three-quarter views. Look at where the fullness sits — in the upper or the lower part of the breast — at the position of the nipple on the breast, and at the spacing between the two breasts. Almost nobody is perfectly symmetrical, and a small difference between the sides is common before and after surgery.
Consider whether the result looks in proportion to the width of the chest and the frame of the body. Posture, bras, lighting and the angle of the camera change how full a breast looks, so check that both photographs were taken in the same way.
Results vary between patients. Images should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a similar outcome.
