Facelift in Istanbul
A facelift in Istanbul means staying close to your surgeon for 10 to 14 days while sutures come out in stages. How to compare local surgeons and hospitals, what to ask about technique, and how to plan the flight home.

Ninety-four surgeons on our register record Istanbul as their main city and list facelift. A facelift is also an operation where the first days after surgery matter most, so the choice that counts in Istanbul is less "who is cheapest" than "who will I be near, and who will see me when the dressing comes off".
This page covers a facelift in Istanbul only: choosing among local surgeons, hospital questions, how to stay close in the first days, what moves a local quote and the flight home. How the techniques differ and what the evidence says about risks is in the national guide to facelift in Turkey, and the deeper technique is covered under deep-plane facelift.
Facelift Surgeons Based in Istanbul
Each of these surgeons records Istanbul as their main city and lists facelift, according to their own website, a hospital staff page or our register. The list is not a ranking.
What to ask an Istanbul surgeon
- Which technique do you propose for my face (a short-scar lift, a SMAS lift or a deep-plane lift), and why that one rather than another?
- Is the neck included, and are any other procedures planned at the same time?
- How many facelifts do you perform in a year, and who closes the wounds and manages the dressings?
- What is your plan if a haematoma develops, and where would it be treated?
- Who removes the sutures, and on which days?
Written answers help you compare two surgeons on the same operation instead of on the same price.

A facelift is usually done under general anaesthesia or deep sedation, followed by monitoring overnight. In a database analysis of 11,300 facelift patients, haematoma was the most common major complication and men had a markedly higher haematoma risk, so the facility should be able to treat bleeding quickly. Check that the hospital is on the HealthTürkiye certified provider list; the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate oversees health facilities in the city.
Staying Close in the First Days
Bleeding is most likely in the first hours and days, which is why your hotel should be near the hospital where you were operated on and not near the tourist sights. Keep your head raised, avoid straining and bending, keep blood pressure under control as your surgeon advises, and carry no heavy luggage. Sutures are removed in stages over roughly 10 to 14 days, and many patients feel ready to be seen socially around that point. Choose a hotel with a lift and an easy transfer to the hospital, and arrange a companion who can watch for swelling on one side of the face and call the surgeon at once if it appears.
What Moves a Facelift Quote in Istanbul
We keep no separate Istanbul price list. In September 2026 Turkish providers advertised a full SMAS facelift at roughly €3,000–€6,000, and the deep-plane technique is recorded separately on our deep-plane facelift cost page. Those are advertised figures, not quotes. The facelift cost page shows what a package usually includes and leaves out.
In Istanbul the quotes you receive will differ mainly because of:
- the technique and whether the neck is included
- other procedures added to the same anaesthetic, which raise complication rates in the study cited above
- nights in hospital and the surgeon's fee for the first-week reviews
- how many hotel nights the package carries for a 10 to 14 day stay
- whether suture removal and the final check are inside the price
Before You Book
Ask for the surgeon's name and plastic surgery specialty, the hospital name and address, the technique and whether the neck is included, the nights in hospital, the dates of each review and suture removal, the plan for bleeding, and the deposit terms if examination changes the plan. A surgeon who will not put the technique in writing is giving you less to compare.
Flying Home from Istanbul
The NHS advises waiting 7 to 10 days after facial cosmetic procedures before flying, and your surgeon may want you to stay longer so that sutures can be removed in stages. Use the airport nearest your hospital and avoid rushing for a flight on the day of a review.

Why Türkiye
What Türkiye offers, and how to check it
A national authorisation scheme, specialist surgeons and prices set beside those of the countries patients travel from — each with a source you can check.
A national authorisation scheme
Hospitals and clinics treating international patients must hold a Ministry of Health health-tourism authorisation and, under the 2025 regulation, must also carry complication insurance for operating-room procedures.
How providers are checked1,934 plastic surgery specialists
Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is its own specialty in Türkiye, and every profile states the surgeon's title, what we checked and, where we hold it, where they practise.
