Rhinoplasty in Antalya

Questions that suit a smaller city

• In which hospital will you operate, and is it the place where I will be seen for checks?
• Is this a primary operation, a septorhinoplasty or a revision, and what does that change?
• Which approach and which grafts do you expect to use, and where will they come from?
• Who removes the splint and when, and how will you follow my healing from abroad?

Because no Antalya facility in our register lists rhinoplasty, treat the hospital as something you must establish yourself. Ask for the hospital's name and address in writing, check it on the HealthTürkiye certified provider list, and ask who gives the anaesthetic. The Antalya Provincial Health Directorate oversees health facilities in the province. If a surgeon operates in a different city from where they consult, that should be in the plan before you book flights.

Most patients plan around 7 to 10 days after a nose operation, which usually allows the splint to come off and a check before flying. In the first 48 hours expect swelling, bruising around the eyes, a blocked nose and some bleeding, so rest with your head raised. Around a week later the splint comes off and bruising fades; visible swelling settles over weeks and the tip can take 12 to 18 months to finish settling, particularly in thick skin. Antalya's beaches are not part of this plan: the NHS advises against lying in the sun or going in the water after surgery abroad, and you may be told to avoid pressure from glasses. A hotel with a quiet room and a short transfer to your surgeon matters more than a sea view.

In Antalya the differences usually come from the type of operation, whether grafts are needed, the hospital the surgeon uses, nights included, and a summer premium on hotels and flights between June and September.

Have in writing: the surgeon's name and plastic surgery specialty, the hospital's name and address, the type of rhinoplasty and any grafts, the date of splint removal and review, the follow-up plan after you fly home, and the deposit terms if examination changes the plan.

The CDC cites the American Society of Plastic Surgeons advice to wait 7 to 10 days after cosmetic procedures on the face, eyelids or nose, which fits the usual stay. Flying with a swollen nose is uncomfortable for most people, but a nosebleed or difficulty breathing should be reported to your surgeon.
