What a stay in Bursa involves

Getting around
Most international patients fly into Istanbul and travel on to Bursa by road or by a combination of road and ferry, which usually takes about two to three hours; Bursa Yenişehir Airport has limited services. Within the city the metro and buses serve the main districts.
Where patients stay
Many international patients book a hotel or aparthotel near the hospital for the first nights after surgery. Ask whether your package includes accommodation, which hotels the provider works with, and how far the hotel is from the hospital.
Safety considerations
Large Turkish cities are generally safe for visitors. Use licensed taxis or the transfer your provider arranges, keep your passport and your surgeon's contact details with you, and avoid travelling alone in the first days after surgery.
Emergency information
112 is Turkey's national emergency number for ambulance, police and fire. Before surgery, save your hospital's 24-hour contact number and your surgeon's or coordinator's mobile number.
Travel planning
Because the journey from Istanbul is long, ask your provider whether a driver collects you from the airport and whether the return trip is included. Do not plan a long drive back to the airport earlier than your surgeon advises.

What this page is not

A city guide describes travel logistics and the doctors and facilities we list. It is not a recommendation to travel for treatment, and it does not rank providers. Suitability for any procedure is a clinical judgement made by a qualified clinician who has examined you.

Phase one is one message long

You do not need dates, a passport or a decision yet — only the procedure you are thinking about.
